Children's Toys is where my heart lies - making beautiful simple toys from lovely woods which can be enjoyed by generations of children. Toys are made from 'safe' woods (e.g. Beech) and finishes (e.g. beeswax), with care taken to provide rounded edges and parts large enough to be safe for small children.
A lathe purchased a few years ago inspired a different dimension to my woodwork, from bowls to salad-servers, bottle-openers to pens. Turning gives the opportunity to celebrate the character of the wood in a different way and especially with the pens, some rare and stunningly beautiful woods can be used.
Furniture covers a wide variety of purposes and levels of refinement, from rustic garden furniture (benches and planters) to side tables and boxes designed to showcase beautiful pieces of wood.
Taking a family favourite and reproducing the game in beautiful woods, using the character of the wood to suit colours, pieces and game elements. From chess boards to backgammon and modern games such as Settlers of Catan or Quirkle.
